Environmental policy
Policy statement of Koniu Construction Ltd. Issued October 2026. Next review: October 2027.
We recognise that building and landscaping work affects the environment, and we are committed to reducing that effect. We will meet all relevant environmental legislation and aim to improve our performance over time.
Our commitments
Waste: we minimise waste through careful ordering, reuse and recycle materials such as soil, hardcore and timber wherever possible, and dispose of waste only through licensed carriers and facilities in line with our duty of care under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
Drainage and water: we design patios, paths and driveways with suitable falls and, where practical, permeable surfaces or soakaways, to reduce surface water run-off. We use water-efficient fittings where clients agree.
Pollution prevention: we prevent dust, slurry, cement and chemicals from entering drains, gullies and watercourses, and store fuel and chemicals safely.
Nature: we protect existing trees and nesting birds, check for tree preservation orders and conservation area rules before work on trees, and recommend planting that supports wildlife.
Materials and suppliers: where practical, we choose responsibly sourced timber and stone and suppliers with good environmental standards.
Travel: we plan deliveries and journeys to reduce mileage and keep our vehicles well maintained.
Awareness: we make sure everyone working for us understands this policy and their part in it.
